Q. Where will Trump International Golf Links, Scotland be located?
A.  The development will be built on Menie Estate, in northeast Scotland’s Grampian Region. The site is 12 miles north of Aberdeen, Scotland’s third largest city and oil capital of Europe. Distances from other major cities in Scotland are: Edinburgh (120 miles), Inverness (90 miles) and Glasgow (150 miles).

Q. Why was Menie Estate selected as the location for Trump International Golf Links, Scotland?
A.
  Mr. Trump had been reviewing sites throughout Europe for over five years and turned down over 200 other sites. When he saw the links land at Menie Estate, he was overwhelmed by the imposing dunes and Aberdeenshire coastline. He had never seen such an unspoiled and dramatic seaside landscape and recognized the site as the perfect location for this development.  Mr. Trump is looking to build the greatest golf course anywhere in the world and this site will allow him to do it.

Q. Who will be designing the golf course and why was that person selected?
A.
Trump National Golf Links, Scotland will be Martin Hawtree Signature Designs. Hawtree Limited, of Woodstock, England belongs to the longest continuious golf course architectural practice in the world. Set among towering dunes beside the North Sea, construction on Trump International Golf Links, Scotland, is scheduled to begin in 2008.

Q. How will Mr. Trump influence the course design?
A.
  Mr. Trump takes a very close interest in every single aspect of all his developments and will work closely with Martin Hawtree on this project.  Due to his Scottish heritage (his mother, Mary MacLeod, was born in northern Scotland on the Island of Lewis in Stornoway) and the knowledge he has acquired during numerous trips to play on the country’s famous courses, Mr. Trump will be instrumental in creating two classic golf courses destined to attain a place among the worlds greatest.

Q. Will the course be designed to host professional golf tournaments?
A.
  It's no secret that Mr. Trump wants to attract professional events of the highest standard to each of his golf properties, and this entire project will be designed with that in mind.

Q. When is it estimated that the course will be ready for play?
A.
It is hoped that the first course will be open for play in 2010.

Q. What will be the full scope of the development?
A.
Trump International Golf Links, Scotland will comprise; two championship golf courses, a five-star hotel with associated facilities, a state-of-the-art golf academy and a turf grass research centre.  The development will also include a mixed-use residential element.

Q. What is the estimated cost of the development?
A.
  It is anticipated that costs will be in excess of £1 billion.

Q. Based on a development this size, what is the estimated economic benefit to the Grampian region of Scotland?
A.
The overall net economic impacts of the Menie development could potentially result in the following:
In Gross Value Added (GVA) terms the development could create as much as £205m and £262m additional economic output over the course of the build in Aberdeenshire and Scotland economies respectively; in GVA terms the ongoing per-annum impact is £47m and £58 for Aberdeenshire and the whole of Scotland respectively.

Q. How many jobs is this resort likely to create?
A.
The construction element of the development has the potential to support approximately 6,230 jobs in Aberdeenshire over the whole course of the development, 6,970 in the whole of Scotland and thus 740 jobs in the rest of Scotland. The ongoing operation could support a total of 1,250 and 1,440 long-term jobs in Aberdeenshire and the whole of Scotland respectively.  This means around 190 additional jobs in the rest of Scotland

A.
There will be a private membership as well as resort guests and a local access policy at Trump International Golf Links, Scotland.
